- Before placing your flowers in a vase or container, trim 1/2 inch (using a diagonal cut) off of the end of each stem and do the same thing each time you change the water. This will help your flowers to pull the water up into the stem more easily.
- Always use sharp pruners or scissors when cutting.
- Remove any foliage or leaves that fall below the water level in the vase or container.
- Change the water frequently. I suggest every 2 days.
- It's best to keep your flowers away from bright light and heat.
- Use flower food with every change of water.
- Avoid ethylene gas damage by keeping your flowers away from ripening fruit, vegetables or other dying flowers.
- Remove any wilted or damaged foliage or flowers.
- Thoroughly wash your vase/container in hot soapy water to remove any contaminants that may affect your next bouquet.
